Relationship Manager, FVP Level, (Exempt Role), Reporting to Team Leader & SVP, Middle Market
SALARY – 150-200K

Senior relationship manager for complex credit relationships in team portfolio.  Responsible for sourcing, supervising and participating in relationship management, new business development, underwriting and closing transactions.  Target of $20MM annually in new business deals with an emphasis on acquiring new clients and enhancing the revenue generation from existing clients through credit and cross selling opportunities.  Functional manager/mentor for junior relationship team members: Lend support to all team members in any of the above mentioned functions (relationship, credit, underwriting, new business development, etc.) when greater seniority, experience or expertise is required.

Day-to-day responsibilities:
1.        Work to generate credit and noncredit opportunities in the market through cultivation of prospects and networking with referral sources.
2.        Manage own portfolio of borrowing accounts.
3.        Mentor junior team members and participate as well as supervise underwriting and close of transactions.
4.        Structure/restructure credit facilities to ensure optimum balance between customer and bank interests while remaining within bounds of prudent banking and approved credit policy and practice.
5.        Execute transactions quickly and efficiently.
6.        Proactive in identifying and managing deteriorating credit situations.
7.        Present new and existing credits to Credit Committee of Senior Bank Management for approval or modification.
8.        Demonstrate credit and noncredit product knowledge.
9.        Support other lines of business in cross selling bank products and services.
10.        Effectively manage competing priorities, strategically aligning efforts and activities to meet goals and objectives.
11.        Employ market/competitor awareness in relationship communication and business development opportunities.
12.        Perform other duties as assigned which fall within the scope of responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS – specific experience, knowledge and/or skills required for position.


Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Finance/Accounting/Economics.  MBA desirable.


Excellent credit and financial analysis skills.  Strong comprehension of credit and cash flow analysis for complex structured transactions, loan documentation and deal structure.  Strong knowledge of mission statement, target markets, loan policies and credit standards.  Strong written & verbal communication skills with an emphasis on mentoring as well as supervising junior team members.  Manage and multitask in a fluid and fast paced environment.


10+ years credit analysis & relationship management experience in a commercial middle market banking environment with formal credit training.  Direct management & mentoring skills/experience required.  Demonstrated ability to attract, retain and develop customer relationships and cultivate referral sources.
