Description

Description: The Sr. Financial Reporting Specialist will be responsible for compiling and analyzing SEC reporting and internal financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and industry standards. This role provides value-added commentary where appropriate; establishes and maintains efficient reporting processes ensuring accurate and complete financial reporting; and, collaborates with team members and colleagues across various departments at the Company.

Job Duties:
o Compiles and prepares SEC reports/communications (i.e., 8K, 10-Q, 10K, etc.) and monthly and quarterly internal financial reports. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial reports. Analyzes financial data, provides analytical commentary and develops forecasts. Ensures SEC reporting disclosures are complete and accurate (i.e. completion of disclosure checklist). Maintains SEC reporting software.
o Assists with interpretation and assessment of new/amended FASB pronouncements as well as statutory and regulatory matters. Includes the preparation of accounting memos.
o Collaborates with department team members and provides support to internal and external auditors, and regulators.
o Documents and maintains written processes and control documentation related to all reporting. Identifies automation and process improvement recommendations focused on efficiency and effectiveness. Implements enhancements and/or fully leverages automation.
o Performs other duties as assigned. (i.e., prepare presentations, deliver on special projects, implement new technologies)

Job Requirements:
o Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline;
o CPA designation is preferred;
o Minimum 2-3 years of SEC financial reporting experience;
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in banking or other financial institution;
o Ability to summarize and present financial data in an organized and articulate manner;
o A strong work ethic with high attention to detail and quality;
o Highly motivated, self-starter professional;
o Ability to work successfully in a deadline driven, high pressure, fast-pace, ever changing team environment;
o Experienced in working with Core Banking and General Ledger systems and other application tools (Excel);
o Excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities with time management;
o Strong verbal and written communication skills.
